It's Mother's Day Weekend, and whether you choose to enjoy some alone time, or spend it with the family, here's a list of area happenings (and discount offers too!).

- The Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra's epic season finale concert will be on Satuday, May 10th at 7:30 at Johns Creek United Methodist Church. Kaleidoscope of American Music explores our nation’s musical heritage. Featuring LA Philharmonic Principal Trumpet Tom Hooten, this concert will highlight pioneers like George Gershwin and modern voices, including John Williams and Atlanta’s own Michael Kurth. - Peachtree Corners FREE Concert Series is back this Saturday night! The whole family can enjoy a FREE concert by DANCING DREAM: The Tribute to ABBA, the greatest pop supergroup from Sweden that ruled the music world in the 70's and it still holds the title of one of the best pop groups in the world ever and BIG BAM BOOM is a Hall & Oates tribute that brings you the music you know and love – that fusion of true rock and roll with rhythm and blues. - Take your mom to an electrifying FREE show on Friday night at the Red Clay Theatre featuring the sensational Blair Crimmins & The Hookers—a band that masterfully blends ragtime rhythms, Dixieland jazz, and high-energy swing into one unforgettable experience. - If she loves musicals, then tickets to see Beautiful, the Carol King Musical by City Springs Theatre would be perfect! This is a fantastic show filled with some of the most recognizable songs of the 1960s and early ‘70s More information and purchase tickets HERE.
- Give your mom tickets to see Waitress the Musical at the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville. The show opens May 22nd. Info and tickets HERE
- For an unforgettable FREE night of laughter and live theatre, take her to see Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Amphitheatre. Saturday, May 10, 2025 2pm-3:45pm and also at 5pm-6:45pm and Sunday, May 11, 2025 2pm-3:45pm. More information HERE
3) Treat her like Royalty!
- Raise your pinky at a British Mother's Day Tea on Sunday at Atlanta’s Millennium Gate Museum, featuring unlimited tea, scones, and sandwiches from The Ginger Room. Details and tickets HERE.
- Travel through the mists of time to a festive celebration at Medieval Times in Duluth, where you’ll be in awe of gallant knights and majestic horses battle with brawn and steel to determine one victor to protect the throne. - If she favors pie, go to Crave Pie in downtown Duluth for the bests pies in the Atlanta area!
- Try Sweet Hut Bakery & Cafe or Paris Baguette for beautiful cakes, pastries, buns, tarts and donuts.
- If her passion is for macrons (my fav!), the best are at Mac Lab, Crazy Sweets, and Cafe Mozart .
5) Enjoy a FREE Festival-

6) Is she a sports-loving mom?
- We all know Mom is the real MVP. "Moms and Mimosas" is the College Football Hall of Fame's signature Mother's Day event where all moms enjoy FREE admission, a complimentary mimosa, and a special gift for the first 50 through the doors, all courtesy of The Home Depot.
7) Compare notes with animal Moms-
- Get a FREE "Zoo Mom" Tour at the North Georgia Zoo in Cleveland. Take a tour and learn all about being a mom in the animal kingdom. How mom's take care of their young. Learn what it is like to be a surrogate mom to animals at the zoo and meet some of those special animal "moms". Talk with mom's who help at the zoo and share fun stories of being a mom to both the human and animal kind! Is it really that different after all? Moms get in FREE with paid child's admission on Mother's day! (May 11, 10am -4pm)
8) Enjoy a museum day with the family.
- The Second Sunday of each month is FREE admission day for the whole family at the High Museum of Art with special family-friendly programming. This month that falls on Mother's Day, May 11th! Info HERE.
- Take your Mummy to visit the mummies- at the Michael C. Carlos Museum. See largest ancient collections in the Southeast, including artifacts and mummies from ancient Egypt, and artifacts and art from Greece, Rome, the Near East, and the ancient Americas. See our review.
9) Visit Atlanta Botanical Gardens -
- Renowned plant collections, beautiful displays and spectacular exhibitions make the Atlanta Botanical Garden the loveliest place in the city to visit. The Garden includes 30 acres of outdoor gardens, an award-winning Children’s Garden, the serene Storza Woods highlighted by a unique Canopy Walk, and the picturesque Skyline Garden.
